Recently, I found myself wanting to own a pet again.

My parents used to own a dog during my childhood so I got to know their behaviors quite well. Cats and dogs, like adults, are good at managing others so that they can get their own way. A common way in which cats and dogs will try to control their owners is in their eating habits. Some pets will test their owners to see how far they can go in getting the kinds of food they like best. They will go on a hunger strike and refuse to eat the food that the veterinarian suggests. Well, I have seen fat pets which have pushed their owners to an absurd point. For instance, the owner will honestly think that "pooch" or "pussy" will eat only the best steak or tuna.

Moreover, once a pet gets too dependent, any change in routine can result in bizzare actions. All at once a pet may forget its toilet training. The owner may go into a depression or rage because of this! A pet may even go "lame" and act as if it has a bad leg. These emotional problems can be caused by situations in which the pet feels ignored. It may be because of a "rival", such as a new baby. It could be a hobby that gets the owner's attention. The funny part is that if the owner fusses over the pet, the neurotic actions will just go on!
